    AI Usage & Transparency Policy

    Effective Date: March 13, 2026 · Last Updated: May 20, 2026

ArcProof uses artificial intelligence as a core component of its skill intelligence platform. This policy provides full transparency about where AI is used, how it processes your data, what decisions it makes, and how we ensure fairness and accountability.

    1. Where AI Is Used

    Skill Extraction & Analysis

AI analyzes uploaded content — including resumes, assignments, projects, and coursework — to identify demonstrated skills and generate structured competency evidence. This includes content imported from LMS platforms (Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, Brightspace).

    Competency Assessment

AI evaluates assessment responses and submissions across multiple dimensions including technical depth, critical thinking, communication clarity, relevance, and originality. Multi-step scenario assessments use AI to generate adaptive follow-up questions based on your specific answers.

    AI Mentoring

Each course includes an AI mentor that provides 24/7 guidance, answers questions, reviews submissions, and coaches through learning scenarios. Mentors are configured with domain-specific knowledge and instructional guidelines.

    Adaptive Learning Paths

AI analyzes your learning pace, assessment performance, and career goals to recommend courses, adjust difficulty, and personalize your learning sequence.

    Content Generation

Course outlines, lesson content, practice assessments, and flashcards are AI-assisted during creation. All AI-generated content is reviewed for quality and accuracy before publication.

    Grading & Feedback

Capstone projects and complex submissions receive AI-powered evaluation with rubric-based scoring, detailed feedback, and actionable improvement suggestions.

    Assessment Integrity

AI monitors behavioral interaction patterns during assessments — including response timing, editing patterns, and focus changes — to detect potential automation or cheating. This data is used for integrity verification, not surveillance.

    Resume Analysis

AI scans uploaded resumes to extract skills, identify career alignment, and generate personalized learning recommendations based on identified skill gaps.

    2. How AI Processes Your Data

When you submit content for analysis (e.g., a resume, assignment, or assessment response), the following occurs:

    • 1. Your content is transmitted securely (TLS 1.3) to our AI processing systems.
    • 2. The AI model analyzes the content to extract skills, evaluate competency, or generate feedback.
    • 3. Structured results (skills, scores, evidence) are stored in your account.
    • 4. Your raw submission is stored securely and accessible only to you (and authorized parties you designate).
    • 5. Your content is not used to train or fine-tune AI models unless you explicitly opt in.

We use third-party AI model providers (such as OpenAI and Google) to process certain requests. These providers are bound by data processing agreements that prohibit them from using your data for model training.

    3. AI Decision-Making & Human Oversight

Automated Decisions. AI makes the following types of automated decisions:

    • • Skill score calculation based on assessment performance and evidence
    • • Course recommendations and learning path adjustments
    • • Assessment integrity flags based on behavioral analysis
    • • Content moderation for forum posts and submissions

Human Oversight. The following safeguards are in place:

    • • AI-generated content is reviewed by subject matter experts before publication
    • • Assessment integrity flags are reviewed by staff before any action is taken against your account
    • • You may request human review of any AI-generated score, grade, or assessment outcome
    • • Credential revocation decisions always involve human review

    4. Our AI Principles

    Transparency

We clearly label every AI-powered interaction on the platform and disclose all AI use in this policy.

    Fairness

Assessments are calibrated to minimize bias across demographics, backgrounds, and educational systems.

    Privacy

AI processes your data only to deliver the Service. Your submissions are never used for model training without explicit consent.

    Accountability

All AI decisions that affect your scores, credentials, or account status are logged and subject to human review upon request.

    Accuracy

We continuously evaluate AI output quality and update models to improve accuracy and reduce errors.

    User Control

You can request human review, opt out of optional AI features, and control what data is processed.

    5. Your Data & AI

    • • Your submissions are not used to train AI models without explicit opt-in consent.
    • • AI mentor conversations are stored only for your benefit — to maintain context and improve your experience.
    • • You can request deletion of all AI-processed data at any time.
    • • Aggregated, anonymized data may be used to improve assessment calibration and platform quality.
    • • You can download a copy of all AI-generated data about you (scores, evidence, feedback) via your account settings.

    6. AI Limitations & Disclaimers

We believe in honest disclosure of what AI can and cannot do:

    • • AI assessments measure demonstrated competency — they are not professional qualifications or licensure.
    • • AI mentors provide educational guidance — they do not provide certified professional, legal, medical, or financial advice.
    • • AI-generated content may occasionally contain inaccuracies despite quality review processes.
    • • Skill scores are relative competency measures — they are not absolute guarantees of workplace performance.
    • • AI skill extraction from resumes and coursework reflects the content analyzed — it may not capture all competencies.
    • • Behavioral integrity analysis is probabilistic and never used as the sole basis for account action.

    7. Right to Explanation & Appeal

    You have the right to:

    • Understand: Request an explanation of how any AI-generated score, grade, or recommendation was determined.
    • Appeal: Challenge any AI-generated assessment outcome and request human review.
    • Opt Out: Decline optional AI features (such as AI mentoring or adaptive recommendations) where alternatives exist.
